Vehicle technology is not unique to a particular manufacturer. High tech systems such as fuel injection and anti-lock braking are always manufactured by third party manufactures such as Bosch or Lucas and knowledge of these systems is transferable across different types of vehicle. Vehicle ‘manufacturers’ are increasingly becoming vehicle ‘assemblers’ with large percentages of components being outsourced.

JS AutoServices stays abreast of technology in a number of ways:

Training - we employ a specialist training consultant in vehicle electronics to spend six hours per week with our technicians. Unlike many franchised dealers whose technicians rely on experience, we rely on diagnostic processes and procedure.

Equipment – we invest in the necessary equipment (as well as the skills to use them).

Information – we subscribe to various sources of technical information that enables us to test and evaluate suspect components.

 

3. "My car is covered by warranty. Won’t this be invalidated if my car is serviced by an independent garage?"

No it will not. Whilst many vehicle manufacturers and their agents do their best to give this impression, on checking the warranty statement for your car you will probably find that provided the vehicle has been maintained in accordance with the recommendations and that appropriate parts are fitted, the warranty remains valid.

 

4. "If my car does go wrong under warranty, shouldn’t it go back to the main dealer?"

Yes it should! If we (or you) find fault with your car that is justifiably covered by the warranty, we will liaise with you or your leasing company to arrange for these repairs to be carried out by the franchised dealer at minimum inconvenience to yourself.
